Image for 8 Things You Need To Know To Be A Happy Client <br>(From A Developer’s Perspective)

Developing, launching and managing a website for your business can be either an exciting or stressful experience. Working with different clients from all around the world, we have learned some things, that we would like to share with you for four reasons:

- To help you get the site you want,

- To launch the site according to the planned date,

- To protect your site and the content,

- To help you be a happy client.

Check The Before Approving It.

When you receive the final design concept you are super excited. It looks awesome and you love it :)  You feel like the designer had read your thoughts and created an embodiment of your vision in terms of layout, style and typography. At this point we recommend to take a break and review the design again. Review the sitemap, all pages and details. Try to preview the design jpegs in the browser instead of photoshop or another image processing software. Preview it on different devices: laptop and desktop.  Please don't zoom out to fit everything on the screen. Hit the ctrl+0 if you are using Windows or cmd+0, if you are a Mac user, to scale it to 100%. It will give you the real perspective of the site as if it's live.

If you are 100% confident in the design, then approve it for coding. If you have any questions or requests, please discuss them with your designer. The design tweaks can take a few minutes, while the same changes in the code phase can take hours. The less updates you request during the development stage, the sooner you will get the site ready to launch.

Send All Requests For Updates At Once.

Once the coding is finished, we send our client a link with the preview on our test server. The site is prepared for population. There are chances you will want to tweak something. At this stage we would recommend you to create a text file and list there all of your requests.  Don't hurry :) It can take several days to thoroughly review all pages and functionality. When you are done, structure all of the listed tweaks or categorize them according to the pages they refer to.  Send us a message with your list.  Since all tweaks are intertwined in the code, one message with all requests, instead of many emails with separate requests, will simplify our communication, help us understand you better, make all updates at once and give you a structured report.

Please Reply.

We invest a lot of time and effort in creating each and every website, and we look forward to launch day because it's a real celebration for us! Communication is essential in a successful outcome.  We are more than happy to assist you over a phone call, email or our management system in order to help you proceed with your site.

Let Us Do The Job.

If you have some experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript or PHP, you may want to make some changes in your site. However, before diving into the code, we strongly recommend you to evaluate potential consequences of the errors. Bugs in the code can cause your site to go down, harm the business and require the urgent intervention of a developer. Therefore, if you have doubts, please let us know and we will do the changes as soon as possible. In the long run, it's a much safer way :)

Send Detailed Information.

If you experience problems with the site, it is very important for us to have all the detailed information about your issue/request in order for us to change/fix it. Send us the screenshots, URLs, describe the problem and the preceding actions that caused the issue. Send us links to examples on other web-sites. Complete the form to submit your ticket support request under the appropriate field at - http://www.flosupport.com/  or send us a message on https://flosites.basecamphq.com/. Don't forget to send us the access information to your website (ftp information, cpanel and your site backend access).

Detailed information helps us define the problem easily and solve it promptly.

Don't Save On Hosting.

Hosting is a VERY important thing. In the last 6 years we have worked with a huge amount of hosting companies from big and well-known companies to home servers located in the basement.  The site's loading speed and security depend on the server.  Cheaper hosting usually has less tools and a weaker security level. The software might be old and the support might not be available 24/7. On the contrary, established hosting companies have all the necessary tools, flexible control panel and reliable security system. They regularly update the software and are available 24/7 for any questions.  When you consider a hosting package, please keep in mind those key factors. Here at  http:flothemes.com/hosting, you can find the companies that proved to be reliable.
